Vida Fitness & Capitol Riverfront offering FREE summer workout classes

 For all my fitness lovers, I am excited to share that Vida Fitness and Capitol Riverfront BID has partnered up to offer FREE “Get Fit For Summer” outdoor workout classes to the public. This is a great way to take advantage of Vida's effort to promote a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. Classes have already started but no worried, they will continue throughout the summer.

Get your workout on, bring your family and friends to enjoy the weather and experience positive energy with workouts that includes flexibility, strength training and lots of cardio. 

V- Boot Camp – Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30-7:30 pm
Boot Camp- Tuesdays 7:00 pm and Saturdays 10:00 am
Sunrise Yoga- Saturdays 6:30-7:30 am
Sunset Yoga- Tuesdays 5:45-6:45 pm

What exactly is foreplay and why is it so important

So imagine this, your lying in bed with your partner watching a great movie with some light conversation. You’re relaxed, comfortable and enjoying the moment. Then all of sudden, your partner tries to make a hard move by grabbing on your breast and entering the vagina without warning. Your sitting there thinking (OMG!! what the &$%@?).  

Or, that dreadful moment when you’re during the dishes and he come slaps you on the rear end and tells you to bend over. Now you’re starting to think, (what is this dude smoking?).

There are a few reasons why your partner just totally ruined the night with these hard moves. Don’t get me wrong, a quickie here and there works sometimes, but hard moves like that just don’t cut it often. Sex can be a beautiful thing, but if you’re continuously doing the same ole tricks, sex can become just another boring job and who wants to be a part of that mess. 

So what is foreplay?
Foreplay is basically playing before hand, preparing the mind and body for sex; it’s just like warming up before exercising. I think we can all agree that most women don’t like the idea of just jumping in bed and heading straight for it, as well as some men may also need a little extra boosting. Some men responds sexually like a stove, you turn it on and it’s immediately hot, but women sexual response is more like the oven, turn it on and it takes a few minutes to warm up. Foreplay does not have to be all sexual. This also involves laughing, flirting, holding hands, exposing your sensitive side, being compassionate, making your partner feel relaxed and comfortable. Foreplay is making your partner want you, its everything leading up to that moment. 

Why is foreplay so important?

Couples who engage in foreplay usually have more pleasurable sex and stronger orgasms. Lack of sexual gratification can lead to frustration, resentment, affairs and ultimately breaking up. The process of a woman’s arousal takes longer than a man. So preparing for intercourse increases the desires, gives a woman time for complete vagina lubrication and prolongs that stimulating feeling. Foreplay allows you to build up anticipation and passion for one another.

 So don’t always head for the same ole daily routine. Play around with it and take time throughout the day to learn what turns your partner on. We are always searching for that sexual thrill. The excitement comes from not knowing what to expect.

How I Transitioned From Relaxed To Natural Hair

Talk about lifestyle change! Its been a whole year now and going natural was probably one of the best decisions I've ever made. Such a dramatic difference but an experience I wouldn't change. My hair as always been fairly long or lets just say shoulder length. So to go from straight long relaxed hair to short (after the BIG CHOP) hair was an emotional ride of my life. I'm still getting used to all the many short natural hair styles, but I so love my hair now, its super thick and healthier than ever!

VIDA Fitness New Workout Classes

Hello loves and Happy Monday! 

So I know most of us are stuck in our regular workout routine then wonder why we are not seeing any more results. Well, I have recently received a serious reality check when VIDA Fitness contacted me to try out their new classes. My first thought was ok I can do this, and it should be super easy because I’m constantly working out all the time. This should be a piece of cake. Boy was I wrong!

VIDA Fitness Director and Certified Personal Trainer Alexx Zamudio, was my instructor, which introduced two new classes to the health & fitness center.

VIDA M.I.T (Maximum Interval Training), A 45 minute high intensity full body workout focusing on cardio, strength and toning, balance and flexibility.

VIDA Assets, The 45 minute ultimate lower body workout focusing on glutes, legs and abdominal muscles.

During the classes I found it very hard to keep up. It was very intense and I was out of breath. I couldn’t wait for the 2 minute break after each set. I went through my water bottle in 10 minutes. Once class was over I had the chance to tour the facility and sit and talk with the instructor about my new experience.

I realized even though I have reached my weight goal and exercise regularly, unfortunately my body has adapted to the normal everyday routine, which is true because I can now do 50 squats and not feel a thing the next day. The fitness class I took kept me sore for 2 days and counting. I literally feel like a hospital patient who’s been hit by a truck. I call it THE GOOD PAIN…

VIDA classes are designed to continually shock the body with difficult routines (especially for beginner) that effectively forces the body into new ways to grow.

The facility is amazing and the class definitely changed my workout life. Therefor I will be incorporating more new and challenging workouts in my original exercise routines.

How to properly DE Clutter your dresser top

Hello and Happy Saturday!

So, if your dresser have looked anything like mines in the past (hot mess) then it is definitely time for a little organization therapy. I have been struggling for a long time trying to find simple ways to organize my dresser top and keep it DE cluttered. It became so cluttered with cosmetic products, jewelry, mail, books, receipts, pictures, cd’s, dvd’s, clothes, I mean you name it and it was on my dressers.

Once I started the organization process awhile back, life has become so much easier and I feel great about the progress I've made and how I have maintained it.

Your bedroom is a place where visitors usually don’t go, so it becomes a super comfort spot. It’s so easy to lose control of all the clutter. Here are some efficient tips that have helped me along the way. Take breaks as you go through the steps; you don’t want to overwhelm yourself. 

Remove everything from your dresser top. It’s best to place everything in boxes or containers to sort through later, and also to avoid a huge mess in your room. Organize as the items are being put into your boxes. All the paper clutter in one box, clothes in another, cosmetics products in separate container. This step will save you time later when your getting ready to go threw them and put them the items in the proper places. 

Once everything is cleared off, clean and dust the space with the appropriate cleaners. Now you have a clean dresser top and you can decorate it with a picture or book or two, candles, or your favorite perfumes.

I use a container I brought from Target to store other items I don't want just laying around. Everything does not need to be on the dresser, so don’t over clutter. If you don’t use it regularly then store it in containers or in the closet. If you don't use it at all then throw it away.
